Don’t get me wrong, there are a number of incredibly wonderful things about being a woman.  We are able to carry children, multi-task, and spend a month’s salary on shoes without wasting time on silly emotions like guilt.

I think all of the above are pretty special!

However, there are times when being a woman is downright lousy – for a number of reasons.

One of them materialises once a month, every month…for most of our adult lives.  The dreaded…PMT (for any males, or women fortunate enough not to know what this is, it’s pre-menstrual tension).  It’s caused by an imbalance of hormones at the onset of a period, and usually lasts for a few days.

Most women get a bit down, use it as an excuse to pig out on chocolate, then carry on as normal.  But some women have to stay locked away in darkened rooms, such is the madness that comes upon them with the ‘monthly miseries’.

For too long, people have sneered at sufferers of PMT as being over-dramatic, or slightly unstable mentally.  But it’s not true. If your body is affected by hormonal changes, there is nothing you can do about it…except sit tight and ride the storm.

We’re interested in real life cases of severe PMT. Did it break up your marriage? Did you find yourself nearly snapping (verbally and perhaps even physically) at your children one day, because you were so irrational and upset?

If anyone understands what you’re going through, it’s other women, which is who we would love you to share your story with in one of the national magazines or newspapers.  You will be paid a great fee for sharing your story – and maybe it will reach out to someone else who has been affected in the same way you have.

Story Details: We are looking to speak to a girl in her 20s who has spent some time in jail.  The Magazine piece will be an insightful look into how her life was behind bars and how it has affected her now she’s been released.

We are looking for this story / person: A good phobia story.

Magazine or Newspaper: Glossy Women’s Magazine

Story Details: Any woman who has got a really unusual phobia.

Story Criteria: a woman aged between 18 and 35

We are looking for this story / person: a young woman who was sexually abused by a woman in a position of responsibility.

Magazine or Newspaper: Sunday Newspaper Magazine.

Story Details: Piece about female abusers.

Story Criteria: Preferably aged under 35.

We are looking for this story / person: I am looking for a great pet story.

Magazine or Newspaper: Women’s Magazine.

Story Details: We are looking for a really good pet story for a short feature. It can’t be about a rabbit or a mini-pig or about fat pets, but anything else to do with animals would be great.

Story Criteria: The feature must be told by a woman aged between 18 and 35.

We are looking for this story / person: A good non-violent crime feature.

Magazine or Newspaper: Glossy Women’s Magazine.

Story Details: We are looking for a feature that would work for one of our magazine’s crime sections. We want anything along the lines of a con man / woman, an arson, burglary – anything that doesn’t have any violence in it.

Story Criteria: It must be told by a woman aged between 18 and 40.

 Story / Case Study Wanted: Uplifting real life story for January

More info: We are looking for a really fun, lively real life story for the January issue of a glossy women’s magazine – not too scandalous or about cheating but anything goes as long as it’s a good read.

 Story / Case Study Wanted: Inspirational Slimmers.

Media outlet: Sunday Newspaper.

More info: We are looking for inspirational slimming stories. We need women aged 20 to 35 approx who have lost a significant amount of weight and transformed their lives in the following ways:

 -Lost weight and conceived my first child.

-Lost weight and landed my dream job (eg became an airhostess after previously being too heavy).

-Lost weight and got a boyfriend.

We do not want case studies who have had gastric bands/bypass surgery, they must have lost the weight through diet and exercise.  Please contact me asap by end of Mon 7 Dec ideally. We will need before and after collects of case studies.

 Story / Case Study Wanted: A heart warming love story of a couple who fell in love this year.

Media outlet: National women’s magazine

More info: We are looking for amazing love stories where the couple met this year (for our Christmas wishes came true feature).

We need the woman to be between 19-35 and ideally they have got in touch with a long lost love this year and their romance has been rekindled. Perhaps he was half way round the world but she/he tracked them down and now they’ve met up and are together.

Maybe she was single for years until she found her childhood sweetheart again this year.

Whatever the story, we’d love to hear about it.

Story / Case Study Wanted: Someone earning £150,000 or over to be a case study for Wednesday’s pre-budget report.

Media outlet: Daily Newspaper.

More info: The person would need to to give their reaction to announcements in the pre-budget report next Wednesday. 5-10 minutes on the phone. They would need to provide rough details of their job and salary (although we could keep this a little vague if it is sensitive).  It will be a forum for them to give their views on the Chancellor’s report, and we could obviously mention their business etc if they wanted us to (although it must be their personal income that is £150,000 or more not the company’s profits)

Story / Case Study Wanted: Lost weight to conceive first child.

Media outlet: Sunday Newspaper.

More info: Fabulous is urgently looking for a woman aged 20-35 approx who lost weight in order to be able to conceive her first child. She must have lost weight through diet and exercise not through surgery.

More info: I\’m looking for two case studies for tomorrow\’s paper:

Story / Case Study Wanted: Amazing and Inspiring women of 2009

Media outlet: Sunday Newspaper Magazine.

Story / Case Study Description:: We are currently writing a piece about the most inspiring women of 2009 who have achieved incredible things this year. Specifically we’re looking for women that have perhaps campaigned to change a law after a personal tragedy, set up an amazing life-changing charity or something similar. Story / Case Study Description:: We’re researching an upbeat, positive, four-case-studies-in-one report for a Glossy Magazine Christmas issue. We’re looking for four women, age 19-35, whose circumstances have changed hugely for the better during 2009.

So, maybe they wished for:

- LOVE. Perhaps they were single at Christmas 2008, and made a resolution to go on a real mission to find love this year, going on loads of dates/setting up their own dating agency/writing a dating book etc – and are now with the man of their dreams.

- MONEY. Perhaps they were in a dead-end, badly-paid job in 2008, but this year they set up an amazing new business/found an amazing new job and are going to end this year making a huge profit/enjoying their new salary/perks.

- FAMILY. Perhaps they always knew they were adopted/had a sibling, and in 2009 they were finally reunited with their birth mum/long-lost sister, etc.

- A BABY. Perhaps they had been trying for kids for years, and this year they finally became a mum in an interesting way, eg: adopting a baby from China; using a sperm donor; etc.

- WEIGHT LOSS. Perhaps a year ago they were overweight and unhappy, but this year, for an interesting reason, they finally shed several stone and now have the body of their dreams.

We will pay each case study for their time and our deadline is the end of this week.

Story / Case Study Request: Looking to Interview a Sex Worker or Former Sex Worker.

Newspaper / Magazine Article Info: We are searching for a case study of either a woman who is working as a prostitute at the moment (preferable) or a woman who used to work as one and is willing to talk about their experiences. We want to show the real side of prostitution, so not someone who is just going to say that she loves working as a high class escort and it takes her all over the world etc, but someone who probably does it out of necessity, and can speak truthfully about the profession without “glossing it up.”

Story / Case Study Wanted: Women who have had their eggs frozen so they can delay motherhood.

More info: We are not looking for women who have had their eggs frozen because they have cancer or another medical condition, but specifically because they are in their twenties or thirties and because of their career or because they haven’t found a partner, need to delay motherhood and are freezing their eggs as a ’safety net’.

Story / Case Study Wanted: We are looking for a woman who has been recently widowed who deserves a special day before Christmas.

More info: We are working on a feature where we’re hoping to find a case study who has been through a really hard time this year and need some cheering up before Christmas. So we’re looking for a widow who is really dreading Christmas who we could do something nice for (it’s sort of like a ‘grant a wish’ type of feature, so she can pick whatever she wants to do). If you know if anyone who has a really moving story, we\’d really like to hear from you.

Special criteria: It must be a woman aged 18-35.

Story / Case Study Wanted: Young women who’ve bought DIY botox kits online to use at home, perhaps with catastrophic results.

More info: We’re looking for people who have bought DIY botox kits online to inject themselves at home. We need really strong case studies. For example:

- teens using Botox to ward off wrinkles and buying kits online because it’s cheaper and they cannot afford the real thing.

- people who’ve done the injections themselves and got it wrong.

- DIY botoxers risk paralysis and blindness and the drug has also been linked to 16 deaths in the US, so any extreme examples with shocking photos to illustrate.

- any DIY botox addicts, using it more frequently than every 3 months.

- Any other shocking stories linked to DIY botox.
